TWIN LAKES, MN (Just Laugh) – Over three weeks later after the Christmas holiday, local Grandmother Tammy Mitchell is still waiting on a thank-you card from her eleven year-old grandson Jacob in return for the $25 U.S. Savings Bond that he was given by her during the family Christmas celebration last month.

“I’m sure he’s just been real busy with his schoolwork,” Mitchell told reporters during an extended interview. “It would be nice to hear from him once in a while …with kids these days, it’s so hard to get even a moment of their time with all of their iPods and Facebooks and whatnot…”

When asked why he hasn’t sent a thank you note to his grandmother, Jacob Mitchell inquired of his mom, “How long until I can actually use that slip of paper that Grandma gave me???”

“Well, it’ll mature in about 20 years,” the woman explained to her son.

“It sounds like I’ve still got some time then…” the child then replied with relief before returning to his game of Mario Kart 8 that his parents had bought him for the same Christmas, which he was able to use that same morning.
